| Mother Blodgett's | (near the Biblioteca) |
Western style stews, fiery breads. Good beer and breakfasts. Six rooms with a river view. |
| The Copper Shrike | (near the Biblioteca) |
Amazing dice games nightly, moderately expensive food, cheap drinks, friendly staff. |
| The Kesseler | (near the Biblioteca) |
Daryn is scrupulously clean, has a good hand with a beef steak. Masters favor this place. |
| The Grapes | (near the Biblioteca) |
Very old establishment, former Guildhall for the Honorable City Watch. Good pastry. |
| The Four Kings | (near the Biblioteca) |
Cheap wine, occasional entertainments. |
| Dame Ann's Dilemma | (near the Biblioteca) |
Boarding house with fixed price meals, no liquors and mostly full of students. |
| The Gryphon | (near the Biblioteca) |
Large and very rowdy after hours, usually full of Frasiers and Noumenons. Good ales. |
| The Royal Oak | (near the Biblioteca) |
Expensive beer & wines, Wundt-style fried breads and ranch cooking. Expensive. |
| The Smoky Wand | (near the Biblioteca) |
Unofficially Off Limits to any students after last Winter Revel. Good fish dishes and breads. |
| Wyvern and Witch | Outdoor dining in summer (garden), many grilled and roasted foods. Fair beers. | |
| The Broken Jug | Weird western fermented dishes and various milk pottages. Ghngal is a nice looker though. | |
| Master's Lament | Recently opened, Kessel-style foods and fruit wines, moderately expensive wines. | |
| The Eel Basket | Good cheap fish on a stick, student prices. No seats or tables, just Feww and his grill. | |
| Chives & Child | The Spice & Sprat, Usually stew and corn muffins, sometimes a decent soup. Cheap. | |
| Eastgate | The best beer in the city, bar none, and the most expensive beer too. Astrid is a former Gallowglass with some good connections. | |
| Jagged Dirk | Food varies wildly, not recommended after dark, but very cheap soup and turnip. | |
| The Racing Pigeon | Specialising in ginger and honey dishes in a well run kitchen. Some boarding done here, slightly expensive but also pretty nice. | |
| The Phoenix | Not too wholesome for some, but they put out a solid porter and a not indifferent meat pasty. | |
| The Inner Sanctum | Recently refurbished, mainly local fish dishes with some Eire-style potage & egg dishes. | |
| The Seven Points | Nice view of the Rivergate and the quays, favored with river folk. Boisterous but safe. | |
| The Postern | Effie owns a pig farm, numerous pork dishes and puddings to die for. Moderately cheap. | |
| Two Maidens | Very friendly entertainments at a cost. Some foods available, some drinkables but so what. | |
| The Enchanted Grove | Formerly one of the better gourmet houses which is still steep but not as good as it was before, rice dishes and mutton mainly. | |
| The Medallions | Very small, and very crowded nights, good tea waters and various meat pies. Noisy place. | |
| The Cockerel | A favorite haunt of "journeymen" and "adventurers". Steep prices and inflated opinions abound, interesting to watch though. | |
| The Wagonwheel | Mostly charcoaled meats and fish, kind of seedy-looking, but good food. Small beers. | |
| The King's Way | The second floor has a view of the West Gate, and a very nice dwarven cheese board. Expensive stouts and some requirements about behavior. Garden dining in summer. | |
| The Bear | Oldest pub in the city, low ceiling, smoky fire, weird little tables against the city wall. The graffitti is worth the ok beer. Good snail plate. | |
| The Eagle and Child | Fowl and Fetus, Bird and Baby. They tend to favor pies and beers, with some more pies. | |
| The Castle | Hard by the butchers quarter, great blood sausages and lungs, very good tripes too. | |
| The Royal Fount | Prices changed after the Midsummer festival, now students aren't welcome. Pretty garden and often they have fresh vegetables available. | |
| The Royal Arms | Possibly the best or second best public house, large, many rooms, two(!) public rooms and two kitchens. Numerous egg dishes. | |
| The Pitprop | Dwarven Fare. Troublemakers are welcome entertainment here. Don't mess with the dwarves, they like it. Good Stouts though. | |
| The Thousand Cups | Dwarven Fare. Run by the Ferdlin Brothers, there is an excellent stout available. | |
| Hammers & Eggs | Dwarven Fare, also some good pasty pies and onion soups. | |
| Easing the Badger | Very expensive, very worth it. Unusual cuisine, some prepared with hobbit magics. | |
| Hounds or Hares | Overlooks the bridge, nice fish dishes and always some malmsey brewing (if you like malmsey). | |
| God Encompasses Us | The Goat and Compasses. Nicer rooms and good board, slightly expensive on Faire Days. They promote entertainments. | |
| Wately's Inn | Nice fireplace and decent chops too. Some rooms over the Close. |
