Halfway between Dalrys and P'eiml, Ancaster is a series of estates grouped under the Mithrandic church which form the backbone of the production of horses for the eastern regions.

Originally owned by the Ancaster family, it was seized and turned over to the church some 82 years ago during the Lord's Lament, or the Peasant War as it is known in these parts.

Lord Ancaster was found (then) to have been in serious violation of many of King Onto's Redes of the Good Rule. To make an example of him, he was fined all of his lands and turned away from court for life. He died a broken man and his heirs left Landsrue.

Since then a very careful reformation of the lands and a repopulation of the villes and towns in that area have been undertaken by the Church.

There is one Sagronian Abbey, a Hermitage dedicated to Albidar and The Redes of Elihu are implemented by one of the few real cadres of Elihu.

The Cadres raise numerous breeds of horses for work, for war and for the pleasure of horses in general.

The last Counting produced a figure of 9,000 horses. Every year two weeks before Midsummer there is an auction and also the choosing of which stallions will be best of their breeds for the upcoming season. Surplus horses are bought, sold, traded etc. to vendors. This has evolved over the years to a very impressive Horse Faire. Sometimes the King attends.
