T'Klendathu

These are originally notes for Diane.

Mariam's father, Yassouf idn-al-Ra'oun, Mithrandicized to Josef Roan, the smith, worships the writings of the Prophet, Ildrahim the Golden, who wrote of the world as it will be after the sons of the God Khor-esh are realized on this plane. There are several Imams who claim this has happened already. The unholy refer to this as Dramism, while the children of the Prophet call themselves followers of the Golden Path. It is similar to Islam.

Mariam's mother (Katerina, but people call her Kate the midwife) worships the church of Mitra, Lord of Light created and uncreated. There are several Mithrandic sects however, which differ over the manner in which the word is spread.

Many many years ago, the children of Set were banished from this plane by Epimetreus, who was a sage blessed by Mitra. He is said to lie under a Black Mountain, awaiting the Return of Set, and the worshippers of them. Set is still worshipped in the far far south, in Stygia.

One sect promotes spreading the word by conquest (spiritual and physical)

One sect promotes by example (good works)

The tenet is similar to both sides, and has evolved into a large civil war as various people have attached their reasons for fighting it. It is no longer the religious issue, it is now a church vs state issue.

Magery is sharply defined by Mithrandists. There are some magical colleges in the capitol. Entry is by ordeal, open to any who would dare.
