Janet gets a call from Asiel at work at about 9 am. Asiel asks for a meeting of the group at 6. Janet tries to reach Reziphel, but his cellphone is out of service. She leaves a message at her apartment for Appoggee, and then contacts Gaudior and Zenaniel. Zenaniel gets in touch with Reziphel by using the Celestial Song of Tongues.
Reziphel arrives at Janet's apartment dressed in a well-used sanitation worker's uniform. He explains that his last cellphone was destroyed when he spent some time in an incinerator after killing Bingo, and gives everyone his new number. Zenaniel has brought two pizzas with "the works". When Asiel arrives, Zenaniel asks her about a joke he heard: the Zen master asks the hot dog vendor to "make him one with everything", and when the Zen master asks for change, the hot dog vendor says that "change must come from within." Zenaniel can't figure out why this is funny. The others attempt to explain it to him with little success.
Asiel gives them a run-down on the situation in Austin. She tells them that many of the Celestials there have made a sort of truce, and that outright battles between angels and demons are frowned upon. The angels are shocked and upset, Zenaniel in particular. Asiel doesn't know why Rumah wanted to go to Austin, but says that South by Southwest, a large film, music and media festival starts there March 12th and runs through the 21st. She will contact some of the local Celestials and let them know that the group is coming for a visit.
All except for Appoggee make reservations with a travel agent to fly to Austin on March 9th; they also arrange for a car.
